The Chevy Impala has surprised Consumer Reports and everyone else following the Impala’s redesign by earning a 95 out of 100 points on the overall testing score.

Last time the Chevy Impala was tested, Consumer Reports gave it a rating of 63 out of 100, so the 2014 Impala is a 32-point improvement. According to Automotive News, it is the most improved of any of the redesigned vehicles recently tested by Consumer Reports.

In the Consumer Reports write-up, the reviewers had high praise for the new Impala, calling the old model a “dated and inferior rental car option” and the new model “contemporary, roomy, comfortable and enjoyable to drive.” They even went so far as to call it “one of the very best cars on the road today.”
