Last week, we brought you the touching story of 11-year-old Connor and how the car enthusiast community has rallied to organize “Connor’s Day,” an incredible car gathering that will be happening weekend. We wanted to give a short follow-up to the story and give you a peek at one of the cars that will be present for Connor’s Day.
For those who missed the initial coverage of this story, Connor is dying from a terminal brain tumor. His father posted about his son’s condition to the car forum ScoobyNet, and he asked people to come to a car gathering he was organizing for his son. He had promised that they would go to a car gathering together, but with his son’s condition, any gathering would have to happen in the next few weeks. In a little over a week, the numbers grew to over 1,000 cars. Individual collectors and clubs alike pledged their support, and some truly unique cars were added to the roster including the world’s fastest Postman Pat van, see below.
If you needed a reason to smile today, just think about Connor’s Day tomorrow. Think about all the people who have come together and made this all happen, and imagine how excited Connor will be to see all these cars gathered there for him. If nothing else, watch the video of the Postman Pat in action above. I’m sure it will brighten your Friday.
